Alrick McKenzie, executive producer and chief executive officer of Absolut Ventures Limited, has big plans to venture into movie production, both locally and internationally, in the upcoming year.
McKenzie, who created and owns nine different television shows, which include Love Zone, Sweet Bake Challenge, Gillette Honour Roll, Mix It Bartenders Challenge, Freestyle Football Reality Show, Family Food Battle, Kids Talk Anything and Everything, The Alrick Show, and The Listing, believes he has what it takes to excel in the movie production industry.
“I’ve probably done it all in television production, including over 200 commercials as well, and I will continue to develop shows for television. In 2024, I will be more deliberate with my planning and start writing movie scripts as I aspire to venture into local and international movie production. I have some great storylines that will become hits. I am just allowing God to hold my hand carefully, leading me to it all,” he said.
The Alrick Show, a television programme that has been captivating audiences since its launch in 2018, through its provocative approach to unearthing the truth while providing a safe space for meaningful conversations, is now in its eighth season and has returned with a fresh new look.
The fresh new design of The Alrick Show is a testament to the show’s commitment to creating an at-home, safe, inviting, fun, and warm environment for its guests.
The show has a dedicated following of 600,000 viewers and is growing.
“I am extremely proud of myself and what I have accomplished in the field of media and entertainment. Having executed nine different successful television shows over my career lifespan is history in itself and shows me that success is endless” he further exclaimed,” McKenzie said.
This season, The Alrick Show will delve into a range of social issues, including tackling crime on the island, overcoming betrayal and incest, social issues affecting students, surviving illnesses, Jamaican superheroes, and violence against women, among other critical topics.
Viewers will also be treated to an interesting and informative conversation with Director of Public Prosecutions Paula Llewellyn, who shared insights never to be known.
